Lord Sinclair Daughter highest priced brood mare at 2006 Marbach Elite Auction
One week earlier, on November 5th, 2006, Lady Sunshine had impressed at the final pre-presentation of auction horses, when she proved her willingness and rideability under a young girl who had previously not been in her saddle.
The highly decorated broodmare, who had already thrown two excellent foals, was one of the most sought after mares at the auction. On November 11th, suspense rose to the limit as Lady Sunshine found her new owner in a nail-biting duel of bidders, under the expert hammer of star auctioneer Uwe Heckmann.
To celebrate her big day, Lord Sinclair’s legendary breeder, Martin Niedermair had travelled all the way to Marbach. There, he also had occasion for a reunion with Heckmann, who once upon a time had auctioned off Lord Sinclair himself for 2.8 Million Deutschmarks, at the PSI auction, making him highest priced auction horse of all time until the arrival of Poetin.
The horse had been trained and shown by German star rider Uwe Schwanz (www.uweschwanz.com). "It is really remarkable how well Lord Sinclair offspring keep performing at the elite auctions," said Georg Niedermair. "This year, several of them will also be represented at Paul Schockemoehle's PSI Auction in December."
