Pre-selection for the 2007 Southern German stallion approvals at Munich-Riem
With the start number 44, the dark bay stallion, out of a dam by Legendaer II, was an instant eye-catcher with his enormous canter stride and flashy trot.
Martin Niedermair and his family were present at the scene in order to closely watch every last little movement of this latest success product from their farm. “We chose Uwe Schwanz (www.uweschwanz.com), with whom we have been successfully working for years, to prepare and show our horse because this means not only a guarantee for success but also a guarantee to have your horse trained in a sensitive and correct manner without undue pressure or push. This is very important and that his patient approach pays off has been clearly shown once more today.”
Schwanz had been working with the stallion for two months prior to the event. “At first, he was a bit shy in his new environment,” he says of Corwell’s first days at his yard, “but he soon got used to it and wanted to work with me. What I like about the Niedermair breeding approach is that he not only breeds performance horses of the finest quality but he also takes great care to combine this with a clear head. This combination is very important, though often overlooked, but only with a clear head can you ensure performance of the finest for a long period of time. From its quality, this is a very charismatic horse with a very collected presentation of movement with plenty of push from the very strong and correct hindquarters, and great harmony in its overall presentation. The stallion’s exterior is correct in very aspect and it’s movement well balanced, yet flashy."
Another Niedermair bred stallion to be selected for presentation on hard ground was the Landprinz son Laconte (number 98) out of a dam by Contender x Raueck I. The official results of the pre-selection will be announced to the public on Monday.
