Niedermair Horses - your guarantee for success in all disciplines!
In sports horse breeding, the Niedermair name stands for elite warmbloods and success of the finest.
Martin Niedermair is a highly decorated Bavarian Warmblood breeder whose great passion is horses. The foundation was laid at birth: his father was already a highly successful breeder. Martin grew up at the farm of his parents in Weng, Upper Bavaria. Initially, he took to the saddle himself and was a successful rider on the show-jumping circuit to Grade L. Soon, he switched to breeding full-time and ran one of the first private stallion stations in Bavaria.
From the start of the 80ties, Martin Niedermair decided to concentrate on broodmares and, together with his wife Gertrud, he dedicated himself to building a collection of excellent and by now legendary dam lines that are considered to be among the best available in Germany. He started by concentrating on the famous Bavarian dressage sire Rasso and his son Raueck I (Rasso - Graphit). Graphit, Raueck I's maternal grandfather, is also the sire of the one of the best jumping sires of all time: the world-famous Grannus. With his dam-lines developed to the highest possible degree, success was not far behind for Martin Niedermair, cumulating in the world-famous Lord Sinclair - with 2.8 Million Euros, he was the most expensive sports auction horse ever at the time he was sold through Paul Schockemoehle's PSI auction in 1997 (see also: The Lord Sinclair Story).
Today, the Niedermair family is one of the most successful breeder dynasties in Germany, its name being carried all over the globe by their quality horses and their offspring.
Meanwhile, son Georg has also entered the family business: he looks after the youngsters, helps with breaking in tomorrow's sports stars, and looks after liaising with top riders like Uwe Schwanz who is so taken with the quality of the Niedermair horses that he often decides to show them at national and international level.
